HTML email on Berry

Yippee after many years of doing email on Berry and never being able to see newsletters as all you got was source code and links and stuff. Well this has now been rectified with OS 4.5 and up and BES service pack 5 and up, on BIS you're provider would have updated to 2.5. The good thing about these upgrades is you also get to download files from email onto Berry and edit them if you have Docs to Go installed on Berry. Hopefully with OS 4.6 coming out soon you will have a decent web browsing experience ;-). Go update now!

Blogging from mobile

I used to use Nokia E90 and that was pretty good. Used screen shot application from Anthony Pranata it can be found at www.anthonypranata.com and best of all its free. To update my blog I used Typepad application and worked ok. Since selling my E90 and getting N82 it hasn't been as plain sailing. I use my Berry more for mailing etc as has qwerty and typing up entries on N82 is a pain with keypad :-(. But the Berry hasn't been as effective as I never had a screen shot application for it, I had one on pc but wanted one on device. Well I am a happy man now as there is an app for berry called Snapscreen it can be got at http://www.virtualviews.com/snapscreen/ota/SnapScreen.jad

Updated calculater S60

After being jealous for a long time over the S40 calculator we finally have the similar calculator on S60 powered devices now. Its a Java app essentially ported from S40 to S60. It has normal, scientific and loan calculators all built into one app. You can download at Nokia Beta labs. http://www.nokia.com/betalabs/calculator also a good calculator to get if you want something basic is Calcium, that can be got at http://www.mtvoid.com/calcium/

Itunes and Touch update

Good news looks like us South Africans will be able to enjoy all the goodness of Itunes now. Before you could only purchase content if you had an American, European or Australian billing address. With Iphone thats gone global its opened up Itunes. Good news aswell is on Ipod Touch devices ther is an update to version 2.0 which will give you Mobile Me compatibility and being able to download apps to Touch using App store.

T9 Nav

Here we have another app that searches contacts, browser bookmarks, apps etc from home screen by just typing the letters. It uses the t9 dictionary to predict the words you typing. Typepad mobile app error

A few days ago I posted a blog entry about Samsung woes. The one app I showed that seemed to have an error was the Typepad app. I installed it on my N82 to test to see if was the I560 giving an error or something else. The wierd thing is I had the same fault when trying to post. Internal server error 500 blog id6. Hmmm how do I fix used to work on my E90. Have emailed Typepad so will let you know. Anyone else have this error?

Nokia push mail

With the Nokia E71 and E66 launch came the anouncement that Nokia wont be supporting Blackberry Connect anymore. They will provide there own solution. This has come in the way on Nokia push mail.
